1997

Mollie was born at 3.46 am on June 30, 1997.  She was 3 weeks early and weighed 5lb 8oz.

A week after we came home, Mollie had to go back into hospital as she was jaundiced and de-hydrated (due to being born early).

Mollie spent a week in hospital whilst she had light treatment (the normal treatment for jaundice).

When we came home, that's when our fun adventure began!

After waiting 10 years for a child, I was totally in awe of this beautiful little girl we had created!

I was so used to being an auntie to my sisters 3 boys, that I picked her up one day in hospital and said "Come here to your auntie Jack!"  I couldn't believe this child was actually mine.

30th June 1998 - Mollie's 1st Birthday!

We were on holiday, staying with my parents on Mollie's 1st birthday.

Mollie's grandparents closed their tea-shop for the day and laid on a great birthday party!

Afterwards, we went to a nearby holiday park to dance the night away.

Mollie's 2nd Birthday

We were in Salou for Mollie's 2nd birthday.  What a holiday that was!

Mollie never stopped from getting up to going to bed.  I recall the earliest she fell asleep was 11 o'clock!

Stephen and me needed a holiday when we came home!

Mollie's 3rd Birthday

We took some of Mollie's friends along to the Wacky Warehouse for a party and the birthday child got to sit in the Special chair.

Not Mollie, she wouldn't sit in it, preferring to sit in a normal chair instead.

On the Sunday, we have a barbecue in the garden.  It was a gorgeous sunny day and everyone had a great time!

Mollie's 4th Birthday

Mollie's Auntie Sam bought her a bodywarmer for her birthday and from then she would not take it off, she loved it!

Even on the hottest day, the bodywarmer was on (along with t-shirt, shorts and sandals!).  She was a very headstrong little girl and knew what she wanted.

Mollie's 5th Birthday

We had a party for Mollie at the Big Top (a converted church, full of ball pools and swings etc).

She absolutely loved ball pools and was a real daredevil on the swings.  Not an awful lot scared her.

21st June 2003
Mollie was diagnosed with leaukemia (A.L.L.)!  Ours lives were turned upside down in a heartbeat as we went from the doctors straight to the hospital.

Mollie 'celebrated' her 6th birthday whilst in hospital (I did take photos, but later threw them away as I do not want any reminders of her time there!).

Mollie contracted an infection whilst undergoing chemotherapy and 7 weeks later she became an Angel.

Whilst in hospital, I used to say to Mollie that we weren't going home without her.

She came home for the last time the day before her funeral and me and her Daddy slept downstairs with her, the last time we would be a family (physically) together.

Mollie's Angel Day.

Sept 14th 2003

Lucy May Gavin was born at 25 weeks weighing just 1lb 9oz.  She absolutely flew out, in a rush just like her big sister Mollie.

She was so tiny, but so, so beautiful.

Lucy was born at Tresliske Hospital, Cornwall and we call her our 'little pixie'.

Mollie chose Lucy's name for her unknowingly.  Me and Mollie went on holiday to Wales one half term and her cousin Luke bought himself something with his name on.

Mollie wanted something too, but at the time there wasn't much with her name on so she decided she wanted to be called Lucy.  She would only answer to Lucy for the rest of the day!

When we got back to the camp, we found a bear in the camp shop with Mollie on and she was happy then.

It was the obvious choice to call our baby girl Lucy, as it was chosen by her sister Mollie.

Sept 18th 2003

Lucy's Angel Day.

Lucy joined her big sister Mollie in Heaven.  Lucy stayed with us for 4 days and whilst we couldn't hold her in our arms for very long, we will hold her forever in our hearts.

I believe Mollie needed her baby sister more than we did.  I'm glad they've got each other and I'm sure they're having lots of fun together.

I imagine them both on a beach, playing in the sand and collecting sea-shells.

May their love continue to wash over us always, till we all meet up again for lots of Big Family Loves (no tickling though, eh Mollie!).

11th August 2008

Our Son Luie Elyjas Gavin was born.

Luie was born extremely prematurely at 18 weeks and 3 days. It became obvious that although he was developing well and was very happy were he was, I was unable to carry him to term.

It was one of the hardest things I have ever done, having to give birth to him knowing he was too tiny and early to survive.

Luie was perfectly formed and very beautiful. He had long limbs and the most beautiful feet I have ever seen! Luie was with us for 3 hours so me and his dad got to chat to him and cuddle him until he left this world to join his big sisters Mollie and Lucy in another place.

As Luie was born alive, we had to register his birth (and death) which means he is a recognised little boy and not a miscarriage. Me and his dad are very happy about this as we can say we are the proud parents of 3 children, 2 beautiful daughters and a son.

Luie would have brought some joy and laughter back into our lives but sadly it was not meant to be. I thoroughly enjoyed being pregnant with Luie (who we nicknamed Bop!) and I shall treasure those memories forever.

I pray and hope that one day Stephen and I will be reunited with Mollie, Lucy and Luie, never ever to be parted again.
